In a new interview with Vegas magazine “Hart of Dixie” star Jaime Kingsays originally she didn’t want to play Southern belle Lemon Breeland and turned down the role. She actually turned down the part several times.
She told the magazine, “The more I thought about it, the more I realized that no one else could play her. I wanted to take a character that was, on paper, a very rigid classic Southern belle and turn her into someone whom you really understood.”
And the character has turned out to be multi-dimensional. She went from perfect Southern belle with the perfect lawyer fiance to being left at the alter to being a successful business owner.
“Hart of Dixie” returns in January 2015 with some major plot twists. First of all, star Rachel Bilson’s real life pregnancy will be worked into the plot.
According to E! Online, the series is looking to cast a new female obstetrician (about halfway through the season) most likely to take a pregnant Dr. Hart’s position when she goes on maternity leave.
In other character news, Lemon will have a new love interest named Dr. Henry Dalton. This could hurt her new potential relationship with her former fiance George.
